Planning with clarity
A calculator for exploring the numbers—not telling you what to do.
JippyVest helps you model a hypothetical investment using the assumptions you choose. It is designed to make the moving parts easier to see before you make a decision.
Start with your assumptions
Enter your own purchase price, amount, commissions, dividends, and future-price range. A quote can be helpful, but it is optional and may be delayed or cached.
See what the result includes
Each result separates cost basis, fees, estimated dividends, and the optional tax illustration so you can see how the total was assembled.
Keep control of your information
Saved scenarios and notes stay in this browser on this device. JippyVest does not require an account to use the calculators.

Getting started
How to use the stock profit calculator
Explore a scenario using your own numbers. A market quote is optional, and the result is an illustration—not a prediction.
Build your scenario
- Choose a dollar amount or number of shares, and enter a purchase price. To use an available quote as a starting point, enter a ticker and select Get price.
- Enter any buy or sell commissions. Optionally, enter an annual dividend per share and a holding period.
- Select Update to apply your inputs, then explore different future prices with the slider or price field.
- Review the estimated value, profit or loss, return, and calculation breakdown.
Example: 10 shares at $50
Imagine buying 10 shares at $50 each, for a $500 share cost. If the future price is $60, those shares would be worth $600: a hypothetical $100 gain, or 20% of the original cost. This example assumes no commissions, dividends, or taxes. A future price of $40 would instead produce a $100 loss.
Understanding your results
Position value combines the hypothetical sale proceeds, less the sell commission, with any estimated dividends you enter. Profit / loss compares that amount with your purchase cost and buy commission; the displayed return expresses it as a percentage of your cost basis. The break-even sell price covers the purchase cost and both commissions, but does not include dividends or taxes.

Frequently asked questions
Details to help you use the calculator and understand its limitations.
Do I need to get a stock quote?
No. You can enter your own purchase price and use the calculator without requesting a quote. Selecting Get price is optional.
Are the displayed stock prices live?
Quotes come from Marketstack and may be delayed, cached, unavailable, or different from an executable trading price. Verify prices independently before making a decision. See our methodology for details.
Are dividends and taxes included?
The tool can estimate dividends using the annual amount and holding period you enter. Actual dividends are not guaranteed, and eligibility, changes in payouts, dividend taxes, and reinvestment are not modeled. The optional tax estimate uses your entered rate only on a positive after-fee stock gain; it does not calculate the tax you owe.
Where are my saved scenarios?
Scenarios and notes are saved in your current browser on this device, not in an account. Clearing browser data or switching browsers or devices may make them unavailable.
Can I rely on these results to make a trade?
No. JippyVest is in beta and provides hypothetical estimates for educational purposes, not financial or tax advice. It does not account for every factor affecting an actual investment. Verify important information independently and consult a qualified professional when appropriate.
